August 23-26, 1990 was a pivotal time for Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Association. Hamazkayin's first pan-disaporan general assembly was convened in Athens, and the first-ever elected Central Committee was voted into office.
In September 1994 the second general assembly of Hamazkayin was convened in Dzaghgatsor, Armenia.
In September 1998 the third general assembly of Hamazkayin was convened in Adma, Lebanon.
In March 2002 the fourth general assembly of Hamazkayin was convened in Ain Saade, Lebanon.
In April 2006 the fifth general assembly of Hamazkayin was convened in Ain Saade, Lebanon.
In May 2010 the sixth general assembly of Hamazkayin was convened in Ain Saade, Lebanon.
